Having featured the Linux Foundation's OpenJDK Summer of Code project last week, I want to direct attention to a second OpenJDK-related Summer of Code project, this time from the Python Software Foundation. In this project, Tobias Ivarsson will hack on adapting Jython to take advantage of the new VM features introduced by the OpenJDK DaVinci VM project into JDK 7, like InvokeDynamic and interface injection.

Tobias is no stranger to OpenJDK - he's been hacking on the implementation of interface injection for the Da Vinci VM. He's no stranger to Jython either, having been a committer on the project for a while. He presented some of his ideas for improving Jython using Da Vinci VM at PyCon 2009, so by all accounts, the perfect match for the task.
